Family will be in Holden Beach from Saturday (4-11) through Thursday (4-16). Never been there before. Seeking good locally owned seafood restaurants, blue plate joints, and where to buy fresh seafood to prepare at home. Thanks in advance.

I live down here and I'll vouch for Provision Co. (very casual) and Captain Pete's ( for a nice dinner, can get pricey) being consistently good.

The best hotdogs in the area come from Mankin's. Get a foot long with chili, mustard, onion and slaw. Their hamburgers look good, but the dogs are a sure thing. It's on the mainland, just before the bridge.
