Places to study

I'm looking for some new places to study and eat or drink coffee. I like M Rohr, but it gets noisy at times. I'm willing to travel.

  1. I have no idea what neighborhood M Rohr is in, but there's a new place at the SE corner of 58th & 1st. Coffee, sandwiches, pastries, easy place to hang out and FREE wi-fi.

M Rohr is cozy and much better than Sbux, but the pay for wifi is no good. The Orchard House Cafe (58th) has free wifi and a decent number of outlets. I like this place - they play a classical station in the background and people are friendly. It's a little noisy outside though and this morning, they left the door open - cold!

      2. 71 Irving is nice. I also go to Mud on east 9th pretty often (just east of 2nd ave). Not sure about WiFi, as I don't own a laptop. I know 71 Irving does not. I thought Mud had it, but then I heard otherwise from someone. So you may want to call them if it's important to you.

        1. I like Doma, the Mercury Dime (upstairs), and, guilty as charged, the 24-hour Starbucks on the UWS (in the low 70s and Columbus?).

I second Doma. I remember writing a few papers there for my tax policy class in law school. Good times.

          2. witchcraft union square, city bakery, grey dogs & sunburst.

            1. there seems to be alot of people studying and relaxing at Gotham Cafe on 68th and 2nd. GOod luck!
