Anyone been to the Buffalo Fire Department Burger Restaurant in Torrance?

So, the chef/owner of The Depot in Torrance, opened up what he called "an adult" burger joint, called BFD... and according to their website, it stands for the Buffalo Fire Dept, Burgers-Fries-Drinks, or Big F*#&@# Deal.

Has anyone been? I saw a brief "story" about it on the local Torrance public access news show (please, no comments, it was a slow night on TV). Chef Shafer has put together some relatively good eats at his first restaurant.

Are the BFD at BFD a BFD? Or, is it just gimmick to charge 8-18 bucks for a burger?

The time I've been the service was great and the food good..no complaints.
Nothing wrong about it's location which was a Aioli (sp) before and accross the street is the Depot which I like also and have been going there for years.

Of course down the street is La Capillia Mexican restaurant and By Brazil, which changed owners a several of years ago and Onami on carson st for AYCE seafood.

Kevin, I guess I should make my way down there finally to BFD. I've been to the Depot a few times and while I haven't had a bad meal there, I did feel the menu was a bit dated...as was the plating. I suppose as long as he's profitable, there is no need to change the menu.

i haven't been, but a friend said it's like bouzy, except worse and on the other side of town. i'm still going to go someday. =)
