Easter Candy
Ready to go hoppin' down the bunny trail and am wondering where other local chowhounds who celebrate Easter get their sugar rush? Stutz Candy in Warrington is a traditional stop for me, and I like to get something from Catherine Carber on 309 in Line Lexington. One year they were getting ready to open their seasonal ice cream stand and I was given a free water ice to slurp on while I shopped. Hard to beat that! I've been to the Asher's candy outlet and some of their deals are scary. John's mom swears she doesn't like chocolate and I am trying to get John to buy her five pounds of raspberry filled chocolates that are factory seconds and quite reasonably priced. Those are her favorites. But after my last visit to Asher's I am kind of afraid to go back there lest I get caught in my own web, he he! I miss nutkin the squirrel a chocolate squirrel I used to get from the chain stores but I haven't been able to find any chocolate squirrels for years. Please let me know of any chocolate squirrel sightings, it is a family joke. Also, coconut cream egg or peanut butter, which is yummier? Oh, and Happy Easter!

This is only about 20 minutes from me, but I didn't want to fight the crowds, so I ordered on-line with free shipping and it was here the next day. I'm sure I saved some money by not being in the store looking at it.

I bot there before for out of town shipping and am now on their e-mail list. The free shipping offer came up in an e-mail from them. I just figured that any business that wants to survive hard times is doing what it can. The previous shipping was fast, too. The store is probably a madhouse right now. Of course, there are other outlets. Check the web site.
