I have been searching for the past week for a restaurant almost anywhere in the city for 4/18. although UES would be preferable, going to comedy club after dinner Just about everyplace recommended only has reservations at 6:15 or 9:15. We want to eat at 7:30. i came across Sotto cinque online and it looks nice and inexpensive (expense not an issue) . Anyone have experience with this restaurant

We were there a couple of times but it was years ago and when they were on 2nd Ave. The food was underwhelming to say the least.

If you can take Hungarian food you might try Andre's on 2nd Ave near 85 Street. It's a nice quirky little place and even though we had reservations most diners were walk-ins.

Assuming you are going to that comedy club on 2nd in the 80's whose name I can never remember you could go to Triangolo on 83rd, Spigolo on 2nd, Willy's on 2nd, Divino on 2nd, Beyoglu on 3rd, the aforementioned Sojourn on 79th, Firenze on 2nd, Italian Village Pizza on 1st and any # of others in the nabe. Sotto Cinque? Eh.
