The concept has been around, in various incarnations, for a while; however, I am curious to see which establishments would be most noted. The concept is that you select 3 local, independent restaurants and try to spend $50 a month at each. The intent is to ensure that your favorites make it through the pending economic difficulties. Personally, I found the idea intriguing and the selecting difficult. In the spirit of kicking things off:
1. Trinity, Keyport (you probably saw that coming) - I could spend the $50 at the bar during Absolution Hour.
2. Mi Mexico, Pt. Pleasant - It's close and $50 buys a lot of tacos!
3. Langosta Lounge, Asbury Park (this final slot was the subject of much internal debate) - Ultimately, I love the idea of getting out of the ocean, enjoying tasty chow & tequila, and getting back in the ocean.
