Breakfast: since I'll miss Bluebird...

Any breakfast recommendations? i LOVE Bluebird Cafe and usually go there at least once on a trip, and I'll be missing it by TWO WEEKS !
Any other ideas? (Mostly I hit Croissant D'or for a 'light' breakfast but may need something more substantial too.)
Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. Cafe Fleur de lis, Riccobono's Panola Street Cafe

          1. EAT, Petunia's, Elizabeth's, Huevos

            1. Elizabeths, Blue Plate Cafe, Crepes Ala Carte on Broadway, Riccobono's, and Slim Goodies

              1. Cake Cafe and Bakery in the Marigny is great.

Huevos in Mid-City is also a good option.

                2. Ruby Slipper 139 S. Cortez St. about a block off of Canal

Oak St. Cafe 8140 Oak St. Don't mind the construction, the cafe is still open.

                  1. I've been wanting to try Surry's...but when I saw about 30 people in line both times I've passed by in the last month...I didn't stop. Hopefully on a day off I can go during the week and it will be no wait...or at least a shorter wait.

If you go on a weekend within 30 or 45 minutes of opening, there's usually not a line. The weekend brunch crowd really fills the place up. In my opinion, it's not worth waiting in a long line for, but I feel the same way about Bluebird too.

                      1. Camellia Grill for sure. Slim Goodies is also really good. I feel ya on the Bluebird. We're visiting 3 weeks before the close. I'll have a pecan waffle in your honor!!

                        1. Not necessarily in this order, EAT, Petunia's, Elizabeth's. We love each one
