Advertising on Site
Generally speaking, the advertising on this site is absolutely terrible. I'm sorry, but what is College Humor doing advertising on here? I'm sure its "filler" advertising- Chowhound can't fill the space. But COME ON. I highly doubt the demographic of this site wants to read about binge drinking, naked college girls, and how to write your first resume.
Chowhound, get some advertising that adds to the site and is useful for your users!

Just a general rant, but in general, flash ads are crapping out more and more of the start up time on ANY web page. Remember what dial-up internet was like with 3.1 and waiting for the page to load? Any ad-heavy site now with flash ads seems to come more and more with a pause time while you wait for all the numerous ads to load up on the page, when you can't scroll or do anything on the page til they're done and it's reminding me more and more of those days.
At least if the ads are somewhat relevant the wait doesn't feel so bad....

AdBlockers often also block all sorts of other things that you actually want to see.
Which is besides the point. I thought there was some mention some time back that the ads on CH were supposed to be related in some way to food & drink. Does "America's Hottest College Girl 2009" qualify because it has the word hot in there or something ?
