Tahoe City -- Evergreen Restaurant

Hi Chowhounder's, I would love to give a shout out to this lovely little place in the Tahoe area. It so totally deserves to succeed in this recession. We had a wonderful dinner here tonight and met the Chef/Owner and his sweet little family. The food has heart and soul and you can see this just by reading the menu. My husband and I have eaten at the finest restaurants all over the world and we have a special place in our hearts for restaurants like Evergreen. It's not going to be a perfect chi-chi experience; they offer casual dining. It's so much more unique than that. The interior is comfortable, warm and inviting. The food is delicious and seasonal and creative. We really enjoyed eating here and will return whenever we are in the Tahoe area.

Oh and I forgot to add that they try to use natural and organic products as much as possible. They also try to support local businesses. In fact the coffee is made from a locally roasted company. You gotta love a place like this!

So what did you eat? What would you recommend, and what might you stay away from?

Am up there a few times a year and would love an alternative to the medicore. Any menu suggestions?

Hey sorry for the late reply. It's been a while and I can't remember what we had in March. I do remember that the recommendations I got from the waiter were right on the money. It's a small place so they can tell you what's especially good when you go.
