Where did Phoenix Pastificio (Pasta Pacifico) go? Miss their olive bread dearly!

mios Apr 1, 2009 11:30 AM

I'm sure this happened long time ago, but while I was away from SFBA to attend a grad school in Wisconsin, Pasta Pacifico in Berkeley apparently closed.

Does anyone know if they have relocated to somewhere else?
I was avid fan of their olive bread (swear, it was the best in the bay area). Are there any other italian bread compatible to PP's?

Phoenix Pastificio is now located at 1250 Addison St. near Bonar. The olive bread is sold at all Berkeley Farmer's markets and at least a couple of Oakland farmer's markets.

Yeah, PP sells the olive bread at the Saturday Oakland (Grand Lake) farmers market and the Sunday Oakland (Temescal, DMV parking lot) market.

Also at the Tuesday market in Berkeley (on Derby at MLK). $4, I believe it was yesterday.

They make their stuff there, but there's no retail shop, is there?

They don't have a retail "shop" in the front but if you walk in and someone is there they will sell you bread. I'm not sure about the pasta.

They will sell you anything they have. I purchase uncut pasta there.
