Best Mid-Town Prix Fixe Lunch under $45 per person
LA hound coming into the city and I am looking for a solid Prix Fixe Meal under $45 not including tax and tip. Last winter I went to Felidia for an amazing prix fixe lunch, and before that had another solid one at Milos Estiatorio. What is the best bang for the buck these days in the Mid-Town Area.
TIA

Ditto on Jean Georges. Main dining room. Not the Nougatine (casual room with bar). Two courses for $28, plus amuses, macarons, chocolates, freshly cut marshmallows at your table.

re: Schweinhaxen
Yes, appetizer and main, but you can add on another savory ($14) or a dessert for an additional fee ($8) if you wish.
If you've never been, it might be best to stick with the signature dishes (and quasi-signatures that get tweaked on a regular basis) like egg caviar ($30 extra though), tuna ribbons, peekytoe crab, foie gras brulee, skate with chateau chalon, young garlic soup with frog legs, scallops with cauliflower and caper-raisin.
The menu is usually composed of a mix of the JG classics, proteins whose prep changes slightly with the seasons, and the very seasonal dishes that go off and on.

re: kathryn
They dont list it like salad, appetizer, main course. You can order any two from the menu. They have one long menu consisting of soup, salad, appetizer and main courses all listed on one long sheet. I was there two weeks ago for lunch. Don't be afraid to order anything. All the food is great.
