Bethany, Missouri & I-35 between KC and Des Moines
Hey roadies........WHERE are the best places to eat around Bethany, Missouri. Or good eats along I-35 between Kansas City, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa. We hear some of the taverns have the best food in northern Missouri. Thanks for any input.

I can speak for a couple of Des Moines places.
First my favorite is B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli. This an old ma & pa grocery store that has been around forever, and I mean forever! They make great deli sandwiches and probably some of the best breaded pork tenderloins in Iowa. It's not a four star restuarant, but you won't be sorry you went. Plus, you can pick up some great corn fed Iowa Beef at B&B. www.killerdeli.com
The best pizza in Des Moines is at Bordenaro's on the South Side. I love their pizza. www.bordenaros.com But, another unique old time restuarant is La Pizza House. It's another place that has been around forever! As you can tell, I go for the nostalgic places.
Good luck with your trip!

There is a cafe at the Eagleville exit, next to Sheltons Fireworks warehouse, that gets rave reviews. I've read that the homestyle meals are very good, and that they also do a great breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. I make the drive between Des Moines and KC several times a year, yet I've never stopped there. Otherwise, there is nothing. It's quite a wasteland from a culinary standpoint.
My excuse is that I'm always in a hurry to get to Harrah's, and I don't have any money left when I come home. ;-)
