I went to Alice's Tea Cup on the UE side for a friend's birthday and I think of all the afternoon tea I have had it was most kid friendly and least fancy. It has all of the parts to be a great afternoon tea but I think part of the fun is the fancy feel at a place like Lady Mendel's. Certainly Alice's is worth the price and might be good for someone younger but just not my favorite.

Lady Mendel's is the best. If you're looking for a more "quaint" experience, try PoDunk. it's so cute and delicious!

Definitely Lady Mendel's for a very special experience. I'd go to one of the fancy hotels before I'd go to Alice's teacup for anything special. Even The Russian Tea Room is doing afternoon tea, but I'd still take her to LM's.
