Luce Restaurant Hollywood
We have been invited by friends to meet at Luce for drinks. I have never heard of the place, so I was curious if it was worth staying for dinner or is it better to have a couple of drinks and go somewhere else?
Is there anything that we should definately order or avoid? If we decide to go somewhere else for dinner, any suggestions as to where we should go that is nearby
I agree with the Chowfather on Luce. it's not bad, but it's not that good, either. Okay at best just about sums it up. I'm not a fan of Fulvio's - you can get much better Italian at many other places. I also think they're overpriced. We like the Sage in Ft. Lauderdale, but our one-time visit to the Hollywood location was underwhelming. We have heard from friends that on recent visits the food was very good. We will definitely try it again. All his other recs are very good.
It's okayyy at best. Not awful but a better spot for a pizza and salad at lunch. I would recommend heading down the block to Lola's on Harrison. Head across the street pre or post dinner to Hollywood Vine for some wine and cheese. Very reasonable BTG options and only a $5 corkage on any bottles you buy. If you want to stick with Italian you can go next door to Fulvio's. Not cheap but they do a good job. Get a meatball. If you want less expensive Italian you can head to Piazza Pasta one block over on Hollywood Blvd. Not as good as Fulvio's but better than Luce. Another option is La Barraca a couple of blocks East of Luce. A Frod rec that serves good Spanish tapas. Nakorn and Sushi Blues work for sushi. I would do Sushi Blues if you want a lively scene.
