The best Chile Verde in San Francisco is...
Please advise.
I love the dish, and so far my favorite is at El Metate on Bryant street. I would love to hear your suggestions.

My top favorites would have to be
La Palma Mexicatessen 24th and Folsom.
Who also have my favorite Burritos in SF. This is a grocery store, so no chairs. but there is a park nearby.Chava's Mexican Restaurant Mission @ 24th.
The Chile Verde has a unique flavor here. tangier.Los Jarritos South Van Ness @ 20th.
This place is my favorite sit down mexican in the city.I also enjoy the Chile Verde at Otaez. I prefer the International Blvd @ 39th location, but if you prefer less immediate access to gang violence you can go to Alameda, Webster @ Pacific.
I'm sorry, but i really dislike Gordos. I worked next door to the sunset location for 9 years. And stopped eating there after the first year. Lots of the food is watery ... they have a very limited menu, it always smelled bad when my coworkers would bring it in the store, There is a reason why they are not located in the mission... they would go out of business there.
Obviously food tastes are subjective though. To each their own. -
There was a thread about it a year or so back but the search function isn't working.
My pick - Gordo's in SF (3 locations and Berkeley). Everything else is so-so to good but the chile verde stands out since it sits in a steam table it can only get better.
