Haven't been to JBistro (search the board, tho -- others have and I believe it's been well received), but I've found Cinnabar to be one of the most underrated places in the area, if not all of LA. Semi-funky atmosphere (reminds me of Rick's Cafe from 'Casablanca' -- fans, wicker chairs, shutters), but superb food -- and a very creative chef. And no attitude at all.

cinnabar is great--if you really love mayonaisse. Go for drinks, not for the food.
