      That is unbelievably sad news. Our son was born across the street at Touro Infirmary and we went there everyday for breakfast. We even brought him down there (as soon as he was ready!) to show him off to some of the waitresses who we befriended and are still friends with now, 5 years on. The food and the atmosphere of the Bluebird and similar places, like the Camellia Grill, were part of the allure of the city that made us fall in love with New Orleans. We are coming back for a trip in early May and I'll be having the Big Bird breakfast plate every morning we're there. I can taste it already.....

        I'm so sad to hear that, though it sounds like Sally is ready to retire. I loved the banana-nut pancakes. I'm going to have to make it there for one last meal while I'm in town for Easter.
