Under $12 per person but good in NoHo/Burbank

This is the task I have been handed-a sit down place with good food and ample portions for under $12 per person. NoHo Burbank area. One person has a nut allergy. Another loves bread and such.

No one is afraid of diverse/new cuisines. Dinner only, please (althoug places that serve breakfast all day are OK.

Try Knight on San Fernando in Burbank. They serve Greek/Armenian food and the staff is very friendly. I've only been there a few times for lunch and the prices are good and the food is solid. If you go try the baba ganoush. They should be open for dinner.

How about Zankou Chicken's Burbank location? According to another online source, the Burbank location sports a better ambiance than their older locations...

Hugo's or Hugo's Tacos would be good but would slightly bust your budget.

          second Porto's and Skaf's.

in case you make it up to Studio City, there's Amir's Falafel too.

          Hot Spot Cafe on Riverside

could probably hit some of the thai places in NoHo for that amount

This might be a stretch, but Porto's Bakery has just added some dinner entrees for $6.79 each.

They have fantastic baked goods, pastries and sandwiches.
I say a stretch because they close at 7:00pm, you order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table and you eat off of plastic plates with plastic utensils. But definitely a feast for under $12.

              Skaf's is great.
Also you can do Indian at 818 Masala for around that.
Great BBQ at Kansas City BBQ company

Mmmm, love me some Skaf's. They have the BEST Chicken Shwarma, and I am not even particularly fond of chicken shwarma.

You also might want to think about any of the Thai places on Sherman Way (Krua, Sri Siam, etc etc ... though Sri is actually on Vanowen, IIRC).
