NY'er in Miami Looking for Chow Places

I am looking for a modestly priced ($20-30 entree range) restaurant in the SoBe area close to Gansevoort South. I'm not opposed to a cab, but walking would be ideal. Inspired modern cuisine is preferred but I'd like to stay away from a large tasting menu as we will be going out afterwards.

TIA

  1. Talula fits the bill to a tee (modern cuisine, right down the street) except that their entree prices skew higher than you've targeted (mostly $30+). However they just started doing a new tapas menu with lots of $10 and under items and you can put together a lighter, cheaper meal out of the options available.

For something different but very good, I'm a big fan of Indomania (off Collins around 26th St) for Dutch-Indonesian. The biggest rijsttafel, with a selection of about 15 various dishes (all small portions, not really a ton of food) can be had for under $30.

Soon I'll add more on Talula as well, which I went back to recently and very much enjoyed.

Interesting about talula. Agree with indo.

I would add creek 28 to your options.

Frodnesor & tpigeon - Thanks a lot. All three places look great. At a quick glance Talula might be the choice. Their menu looks great!

I just had the app portion of their shortrib ravioli and its pretty massive for $15. That and the scallop app would make you a happy man/woman.
