Open air markets in Bermuda?

Spending 3 days in port in Bermuda second week of May on the Norwegian Dawn out of NYC, I would love to explore any open air markets if there are such a thing. Any suggestions? Mrbuffer and I hate excursions and being herded about like cattle. Since Bermuda seems to have a very good bus/ferry system I would like to use it to the fullest advantage.

if you are confidant, rent a scooter..the ride along the roads are lovely..the bus system is great but it can take a long ride to get anywhere with many stops.. I always get a little queasy on the buses but LOVE the scooter. Never saw any open air markets in my 20+ trips but Athena can help I am sure..she is our resident Bermuda Onion.

Resident Onion reporting back :-) You can take a ferry to Hamilton and wander around - unfortunately you will miss the Saturday farmers market. I agree with Phelana on the scooter - but only if you are confident!

Farmers market in the car park of Hamilton is closed for the summer. Re-opens late October/early November.

My friend who is visiting next month with his best friend who works at a resort there said there is a farmers/craft market every sat am at Bulls Head park or street. Don't know much more but it is Hamilton I believe. He goes down quite often and said that is all he knew about.

We are docking at King's Wharf and we'll be here Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
