Phoencian Bread @ OTFM question...
So I've experienced the wonder that is chocolate cherry sourdough bread, and I've indulged in a few loaves over the past few weeks...SO good! I've also had the rye, which was tasty. A few weeks ago, after buying a loaf of chocolate cherry sourdough, I tried a sample of the best bread I've ever had at their booth (but unfortunately ran out of cash and couldn't buy a loaf of it). I didn't catch the name, but I'm pretty sure there were walnuts in it, and possibly raisins. I haven't had a free Saturday to go back and purchase it, so I stopped by the Phoenician ice cream parlor to see if they sold that particular loaf there. I bought some variety that had olives in it, which was definitely not what I had at the farmer's market. It was the closest thing the hotel sold to what I'd tried at the OTFM, but it wasn't it. Do they bake different loaves for the OTFM that they don't sell at the hotel? Is the farmer's market the only place to get this mysterious, delicious bread? TIA!

As hohokam said, it's the Phoenician staff, namely Chef Ben. They definitely have a much larger variety at OTFM than they do at the Ice Cream Shop. I do know that you can call & order most varieties directly from the restaurant though. It's an outside the normal operations thing but they do oblige.
Would definitely try to get down to OTFM and see what they have there. Happened to get a defaulted special order this week of cottage cheese & dill dinner rolls that are brushed with melted butter & sprinkled with sea salt right after they come out of the oven. Amazing!!!
We get about 4-6 loaves from them every week. Different varieties from time to time.

re: modthyrth
The breads Jess is speaking of are baked by the staff of Il Terrazzo at the Phoenician.
