Looking for a lobster Buffet in the LA area other than Koury's in Long Beach which service has gone down hill. Any suggestions?

  1. Universal Hilton Buffet or Cima at the Pacific Palms Resort.

    1. Hey Fly, is it All-you-can-eat or All-you-can-stomach? And, could you give an example of just how bad the service is?

My wishes for all you can eat lobster have seemingly just came true. And, I thought all you can eat crab legs was a good deal at this local chinese buffet.

Dr.Bruin and where is this place you are reffering to?

Universal Hilton Buffet seems to declined in quality over the years

I believe Dr. B was referring to the place the OP brought up (with the bad service); Koury's in Long Beach. http://www.khourys.net/

It's odd now that I think about it.

I have never ever heard of anyone complaining about "the service" when it comes to all-you-can-eat places.

I think you can have problems with plate removal and replenishment of fresh dishes (especially the high end things like lobster) and even getting coffee refills all of which can make the meal less enjoyable.

Well, the AYCE Lobster referred to the OP. The AYCE crab (snow crab, I believe) is at the Grand China Buffet off of Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance... and I think it's only Friday and Saturday nights but you should call to double check.

For AYCE Alaskan King Crab (served both cold and hot), you can go to brunch at the Palos Verdes Country Club on Sunday. I enjoyed too much of it.

I bet even the Sunday brunch at Trump National Golf Course also has AYCE king crab.

Sometimes they run of of lobster and some of the dishes are not as good as before, like the salmon...haven't been there in awhile seems they don't offer all you can eat lobster anymore. Just crab on saturdays. used to fridays too.....

Running out of lobster? Gasp. Don't they know the ocean is just a few blocks away? jk. Their online menu still says AYCE maine lobster on Friday's and Saturday's (I think) but how sucky would that be if you dropped 40+ bucks and they run out.

My lobster limit, for the record, is three and a half 1.25-1.5 lb pacific spiny lobsters. Sigh... Porto Nuevo. Where else to get such delicious indigestion after eating so much deep fried lobster.
