Lunch Friday at Taqueria el amigo on Willow street in waltham. What a hidden jewel this place is. Found thanks to chowhound. I have driven by this place many times usually on my way to and from russos. One of my favorite places. That is a long post for another day. Taqueria el amigo was great. Very small. Friendly service. Fantastic food. I had the taquitos Dorados. They are crispy corn tortillas rolled with lettuce, sliced tomato, onions, sour cream and avocado. I had the carnitas which is pork meat. They also have steak, chicken, and al pastor which is pork and chili which i will try next time.. Everything was very fresh. Avocado was excellent. Meat perfectly tender. Gf had the #17 which is the burrito combo one burrito and one taco. She had the chicken. Burrito was large. Very good. Taco was wonderful. Everything very fresh. Great seasonings. Excellent meal I will be back soon. I can't believe i never found this place before. I've even eaten right down the road at the three fortunes chinese place. Don't bother it's not very good.
Dinner Saturday at the fours near the garden before the Villinova-Pitt game. Great game by the way. It was packed. We almost left because we didn't want to miss the start of the game. Glad we stayed. We were seated almost right away. we were a party of two and they sent us upstairs. Fine by me downstairs was a zoo. We started with the buffalo chicken nachos. These are my favorite nachos. I had the fours burger. It was good. Cooked perfectly. I have to have my burger medium rare or rare. Anything else is a waste of good meat imho. Fries were nice and crispy and meal came with baked beans. I love there baked beans. My friend had the Steak tips also medium rare. Cooked perfectly again. Also had the fries and baked beans. Very good pub food.
