50th Birthday: family style table or small private room.

  • 8

My sister-in-law's 50th is coming up and we are looking for a place for 12-15 people. We are thinking of a small private room along the lines of the one at Simon, or a family style long table like the one at Drago Centro or Yxta. The majority of the people will be coming from the valley or westside, so we are looking for a venue somewhere in the middle. Weho, Hollywood, Culver City, etc. I am an eastsider, and would love some additional recs. Thanks in advance.

  1. While the food isn't going to knock your socks off, Taix has private rooms and might work.

Cicada and/or Cafe Pinot would also work in DTLA.

Thanks Ipsie! I just edited my TP for clarity's sake. I am pretty clear on DTLA spots. Am looking for some place west.

        Oh, ok.

How about Luna Park, I Cugini, or maybe Wilshire?

If price isn't an issue, Valentino would also be able to accommodate you as would Melisse.

Those are all great suggestions. Thank you!

    2. Campanile has two rooms upstairs that would work and Grace has a private room in the rear.

      1. Drago Centro has a beautiful private room (they call it flower room) with a large round table which can be converted into a large square. It seats from 12 to 16 people. Food is very good, and service outstanding.

So they even square the circle at that place -- pretty special, and they're Italians, not Greeks! I second the call on Valentino, and you might think about the old Drago flagship in Santa Monica. They also have a private room. (See: http://www.celestinodrago.com/ for menus and photos.

I would recommend Napa Valley Grille in Westwood. I think for the amount of people and demographics it would be perfect. Il Moro on Olympic in West LA also has a private room that would suit that many people.
