So hopefully they'll give Upper Crust a run for their money. I am not a fan of UC and wanted to like Pizza Republic when it was there, but it wasn't that good. Let's hope Pizzeria Dante will be a good choice for people wanting an alternative to UC.

A website should be up soon at www.pizzadante.com , atm it does not exist but should be up and running sometime this week with a preview to the menu and prices.

Please keep us in the loop! I'm with BackBayGirl. I eat UC but would love an alternative. What other stuff will they be serving? I'd love for something to replace some of what we lost with Firenze!

Anyone try it yet? The photos make it look far too thick and gooey for my taste.

I went to Pizzeria Dante yesterday for their open house. They had free pizza, calzones and gelato. I had a veggie slice and enjoyed that it wasn't greasy and they were very generous with the toppings (lots of black olives, mushrooms, artichokes, etc).

Even though I'm not a huge UC fan, I like it that they offer a WW crust....Pizzeria Dante apparently does not.

So what is the pizza like? Thin crust, Italian, Sicilian? Is it any good? Will the place last in your opinion?
