Diners in Fort Lauderdale

Hi there C-hounders,

We are a visiting from Toronto, with our 3 year old and want to know where the best diner is in Fort Lauderdale. (I love the food in Toronto, but find that diners in the States tend to be better.) Where can we go for a true diner, yet child friendly, diner experience?

I bet the 3 year old would love the Peter Pan Diner, right off Oakland Park Blvd, not that far from the beach either... 5 minute drive.

Moonlite Diner on Andrew's and Cypress Creek is excellent! And the Floridian on Las Olas Boulevard is an old time favorite. You can never go wrong at Lester's.

Flashback Diner, Hallandale Beach. Killer pastrami sandwiches. The fries are ordinary, so get your sandwich with mac & cheese (theirs is great).

Lester's is probably the only really authenic diner. Grandpa's is basically a coffee shop.

I agree with gblcsw, I had dinner there (Grandpa's) and don't plan to go back. Lester's is solid and reminds me of a Greek diner and I have been there numerous times.

Grampas sucks and is filthy. I'd pick Lesters anyday over Grandpas. But still, there is much better to be found. Where did you end up going?
