N.Y. style bagels in Asheville?

I've got a craving after reading Calvin Trilling: Anybody know where I can get a decent N.Y. style bagel in Asheville, maybe with some Nova and a schmear? (Tell me I'm not dreaming.)

Yep. File (along with Vietnamese, Ethiopian, and real Chinese) under "Restaurants Asheville Really Needs Now!"

Neither have we, so sometimes we ship nova, bagels, etc. via Federal Express from Zabar's in NY - it's the best.

Buddha Bagels on Merrimon is the closest you will find in Asheville. I thought it was better when it used to be Harry's Bagels, but it is still decent and alot better than that crap Brueggers tries to pass off.

Agreed. Though when the new owners took over, I found the incense smell from next door to be a bit annoying. It's not as bad now though.

Funny, I thought the same thing.

The only incense I want with my bagel is the (faint) scent of onion!
