Best Indian restaurant in Edison?

I've been looking for some good recs for excellent Indian in this area and am having difficulty finding good recs. Any help appreciated!

Moksha off Oak Tree Road is very good. We've gone there with Indian friends who like it very much. The service can be inattentive and not at all polished. But the food is very good.

I am going to recommend Spice Melange in downtown Metuchen. My Indian friends have been very impressed. The lunch buffet is excellent.

For south indian, I'm a big fan of Saravana Bhavan. Fresh and huge dosas, quick service, broad menu. It's an outpost of an Indian mini-chain.

when i worked around edison, all of my indian customers said mogul was the best

This is disappointing. Surely some Middlesex Co. 'hounds can do better then Kenilworth. Last week, we were on Old Tree Road and the choices are overwhelming. We tried a $6 buffet at lunch that was tasty and funky (India Palace, I think), but I am sure there is better.

It isn't Edison but if I were you I'd jump on the parkway North and get off in Kenilworth (really not that far) and go to Star of India. It's nothing fancy inside and they keep it on the warm side but the food is great and the owners are really nice people.

The dishes are so authentic that we have been warned on more than one occassion that some choices may be too much (spice wise) for someone not use to traditional Indian spices.

Oh, it's a BYO too.
