Good Place to buy Saffron (spice)

(near downtown San Diego preferably)

I usually get it at Mona Lisa.

Anyone know other places?

Do they have it at Whole Foods?

Vons doesn't even know what it is, and that joke of a place World Market doesn't have it.

Last time I bought some was from Pete's Coffee. $10 for 2 grams of La Mancha. Don't know if they still have it.

If you're lazy like me, you can order from Penzey's online.

      Costco, when they carry it.

I've seen it at Trader Joe's.

Trader Joes carries it. I just bought some there but it's probably cheaper to buy it at a Middle eastern market.

At least in La Jolla I have seen it at WF, Ralphs, Albertson, Bristol Farms

The best deal on this I've seen is at Balboa International Market, but that's not near downtown. North Park Produce *might* have it. Middle-eastern markets definitely have the best price on this.

Which Middle-eastern markets do you recommend?
