I read a nice article about Parasol's Restaurant and Bar, Parkway Bakery and Tavern and Rocky and Carlo's in the most recent Gourmet Magazine. Anyone care to comment. Interesting places. Thanks.

Parkway is my absolute favorite! Their fried oyster po boy and ham and cheese are great but my husband prefers Parasols because of their roast beef po boy and he likes the atmosphere and grew up just a few blocks away. We tend to go to Parkway more often simply because we have 5 children and they have outdoor seating. Parasol is great, but more of a "bar atmosphere" (which is great if you are w adults), although there is a small dining area above the bar. I have never tried Rocky and Carlo's, but I will be picking up a copy of Gourmet at the market. P.S. I am a little suprised Domilise's was not mentioned as it has a lot of fans in NOLA, but if you are to go there, stay away from the roast beef.

Just read the article. Parkway and Parasol's are my two favorite r.b.'s in town. Very similar in my book. I thought it was weird that they didn't really mention Rocky's r.b. even though it was an article about r.b. poboys. I wonder if they didn't like it. They did mention the mac n cheese though.
