Society Cafe Breakfast Review

I remember going to Tableau when the Wynn first opened and thinking that FINALLY a casino has caught on to those that appreciate a great breakfast amongst a great setting. So when I was headed to Society Café this past Saturday morning for the 1st time I was fairly excited. But besides the rich delicious coffee, that was the end of my excitement. How disappointing! In such a wonderful casino like Encore I expected MUCH more from Society Café. I guess if the bar had not been set so high because of Tableau, SC would be a decent place to go. But when I walked in I realized immediately that the open light filled place I was expecting ended up being a dark (no outdoor seating, at least from what I saw) unexciting coffee shop. Granted we only ate breakfast. I had an eggs benedict. While the eggs were perfectly cooked (and I do mean PERFECTLY) the hollandaise was a bit too acidic (and not too much lemon...odder, like vinegar) and the english muffin was a disaster. This thing was half the circumference of a hockey puck and a bit thicker. Yes THICKER. IMHO, it was way too thick. My friend had the American breakfast, generic and fine but by no means great. Too many other spots in Vegas that tempt you with exciting dishes to spend this type of $ for mediocrity.

Thanks for the review, LVI! Yes, it's a shame that Encore dropped the ball. I guess that's one restaurant I won't bother with when I visit next month.

I had lunch there last week and it was good. It's a solid lunch spot and that's about it.

I have to disagree with your opinion. I think Society Cafe is one of the best places to go while in Las Vegas. You even said so yourself that you were expecting something completely different. I think the decor of Society is fabulously rich and open, despite not have an outside view. I also think the food is way better than mediocre. They are very good at taking normal comfort foods and making them gourmet. They are still comforting, but fancy enough to return and try other items on the menu.

For future reference, my favorite breakfast from them is the mini quiche trio with ingredients like salmon, goat cheese, and asparagus. I love a good basic quiche, but these are even more addicting.

I like Society's breakfast and their decor. I think the sticky bun they offer is yummy. *shrug
