Genuinely sour desserts?

When I get desserts or bubble tea with sour fruits and vegetables like passion fruit, lime, lemon, or rhubarb - or, for that matter, savory dishes with tamarind - I like to taste a good deal of genuine sourness. I feel like, if so much sugar is added that the result is completely or almost completely sweet, what's the point? So I ask you, where can I get desserts with genuine sourness - a genuinely limey key lime pie, a tangy rhubarb tart without strawberries, a bracingly sour passion fruit gelato? OK, I actually do have a source for that: A little shop between 33rd and 34th Sts. on the east side of 3rd Av. I was pleasantly surprised at how sour that gelato was and loved it! And serious bonus points for Indian restaurants that serve tamarind sauce that doesn't taste like black sugar syrup.

Just had a great desert at Ouest (Broadway near 84th) of panna cotta with passion fruit soup. I also remember loving the grapefruit flavor at Cones on Bleecker St. but it's been many years. Great topic, by the way!

I really like the fruity sorbets at Ciao Bella. If you like sour flavors, the blood orange, lemon, and grapefruit sorbets are all great combination of sour and sweet without being too cloying. The passion fruit sorbet, together with coconut sorbet and tapico with coconut soup at Gramercy Tavern is also very refreshing.

Ditto to the passionfruit sorbet at GT. That is a classic. Also Craft does/did different fruit sorbets. I seem to recall the grapefruit and meyer lemon as being especially delicious. Oh, and my friend LOVED this grapefruit granita they did at A Voce a little while back. And Il Laboratorio often does tart/sour fruit sorbets, but it's totally seasonally driven.
