Court Street Happenings

Was walking down Court today and noticed:

- The old cafe Carciofo space looks closer to opening. There's lots of work permits in the window and a notice of application for a liquor license.

- The old Mirium space is being gutted.

- The old Lobo space has work permits in the windows.

- Peaked into the Frank's new coffee venture at the corner of Warren and it looks nice. Should have asked if they have wi-fi while I was there. Anyone know?

I've got to say, I'm pretty surprised to see so much activity, especially if these all end up being restaurants.

Anyone know if the new Franks coffee place sells Stumptown beans?

Yes, they do. Varieties available include Ethiopia, Sumatra, and a blend called Hair Bender. There's other stuff too, but those are the ones I remember.

The coffee place on the corner of Warren and Court is freaking fantastic -- the best in the neighborhood by several measures. The baristas know how to pull a good shot and the beans are fresh and really high quality (stumptown). I can't recommend this place enough. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw a sign saying they have free wi-fi.

One item to add to your list: that very dramatic new space being constructed on Baltic St, just east of Court is also slated to be a restaurant according to the permits. It's a large double-height room with a full wall of glass in front. Whatever it is, it looks like it'll be a very attractive place. Anyone have the scoop?

Agreed. I loved the latte I got and the barista did some nice art on top of it!
