Great spot for lunch near Mandarin Oriental

Kirkcollm Mar 25, 2009 02:26 PM

We will be in town for a business meeting and hope to lunch afterwards. We are staying at the Mandarin Oriental near Columbus Circle.

Looking to keep it under $100 per person. Great food, great ambiance, great service, great wine in that order.

Thanks for your input!

The best lunch deal in the city, without question, is at jean georges, which is directly across the street from the Mandarin Oriental.

I'm sure you've already checked this out, but I'll throw it out anyhow...have you looked into asiate? it's in your hotel...i went for dinner a couple years back and liked it.

One of my favorite lunches is at Gramercy Tavern. It's not that close to Mandarin Oriental, but if you can afford $100 for lunch, you can spend $10 on a cab. Another good place for a business lunch is Oceana. The ambiance is a little stuffy, but the food/service is great.

I would look into Nougatine/Jean Georges, or Bar Boulud - though the latter may be a bit casual for you.
