Asheville - Gusmos is no mo'

Pretty informative article, huh?

ASHEVILLE – According to a sign on the door, Gusmos Mojo Café has shut down but will reopen with a new concept.

The café is at 501 Merrimon Ave. and opened in 2007 in the former Boston Pizza location.

The original menu included grilled chicken dishes, meatloaf with a barbecue glaze and a menu section titled “Boston Pizza Favorites” in honor of the former landmark.

  1. I've been noticing that it's been dark lately. I live just up the street a block or so and am really hoping the owner doesn't put a Sonic there. He also owns all the Sonic Drive-ins in Asheville.

I just miss the OLD Boston Pizza, or as my husband and I called it, "BP." I'm talking about 15 years ago, when the original owners ( I think) had it, and the pizza just had that "hmm" quality. I had never, and have never since, had pizza like that, just a very unique flavor. And their Greek salad was to die for! In fact, my mom, who has only visited Asheville on a handful of occasions, and hasn't been here in several years, always asked if we could go there for pizza. Why oh why do all my favorite places either close or change owners and go downhill?!

I miss Ike's, which was there before BP!
