Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

cheap restaurant for large group

Looking for an inexpensive restaurant (preferably below midtown) for a group of 15 people celebrating a birthday. BYOB would obviously be fabulous but straight up cheap drinks are just as swell. Food genre is open. No picky eaters here.

I am not a NYC native so can't be of too much help and I know that you said "preferably below midtown" but that being said I recently had a great meal, very reasonably priced at Wondee Siam lll on 10th Ave in midtown. The only other party in the restaurant was a group of about 12-15 people. My wife had a large glass of wine for only $5.50 so drinks are pretty cheap. Food was excellent and cheap for NYC.

        1. There are several Chinese places you could go to. I'm planning on going to a banquet at Cantoon Garden next Tuesday, and I'll report back on how it is.
