Okay, so Tacconelli's is closed today-- where's the second best place to get a slice this afternoon?

  1. Don't know where you are located, but Bacco in North Wales opened up a brick oven pizza place that is to die for. Thin crispy crust, crumbled sausage, ripe plum tomato sauce - yum!

    1. Are you in the city? I recommend Dolce Carini, Slice or Celebre's.

Yes -we're looking downtown. We'll check them out. Thanks!

      2. oddly enough, i've heard that a place called NYPD pizza is really good. i think its around 13th and chestnut

NYPD is near where I used to live. Good for a neighborhood pizza place (as is nearby Michael's pizza) but not a destination pizza place, IMHO.

For center city slices, I'd take Joe's on 16th, 'tude and all.

I second SLICE on 10th & Federal two blocks from Geno's and Pat's. Great thin crust tomato pies in the guise of Delorenzos of Trenton.

I agree with Bob Loblaw. Joe's is the best Center City pizza I've had since I moved here.

          2. Franzone's in Conshy is the best pizza around. the second best is gianfranco's at third and market
