Deep Fried Seafood in O.C./Long Beach

Looking for an East Coast style Seafood place serving Deep Fried Clams, Oysters, etc.
in the Orange County or Long Beach area
Not impressed with Port's O' Call fish market. Every place else I've tried is way too "healthy"
to deep fry fish.

Thanks in advance

There used to be A REAL New England place in Long Beach... but sadly it did not survive the downturn. :( But we had decent fried clams at the Alamitos Fish Company. We aldo REALLY like their clam chowder...

I believe King's Fish House offers quite a few fried options - I go mainly for raw oysters....

bluewater grill does have belly clams from NE deep fried.
I had a real hunger for them last year. It was more the memory than the execution. but it was still the deep-belly clams.
        also in redondo beach.

You could try Bluewater Grill in Newport Beach (not a fan of the Tustin location.) I've seen Ispwich clams on the menu.

I believe the Crab Pot in Long Beach has deep fired calamari, white fish, shrimp and possibly halibut. Check out their menu at http://www.thecrabpot.com

But probably not clams!!! That's an east coast thing, fried clams, here you'll get frozen, before they figure out how to deep fry whole manila clams. I'm afraid you may have to come up to LA, like Hungry Cat, or some other joint with a decent chef who knows what to do with fresh clams, batter & hot oil. The last place I had really decent fried clams was in Vegas (!) at Todd English's place - which is probably already gone. The only way I know they were decent was that they were labeled as Ipswich clams ( a seaport in No. Mass.) Good luck and let me know if you find some!!
