He was the heart and soul of the place, and I hope they can manage without him, but my last few times there talking to him, I know he was concerned about slow business.

    2. That's very sad news. I heard he had fallen and hurt his head; never came out of the coma.

In a strange twist, we're getting takeout from Montien tonight and will offer our condolences. The 2 families are related by marriage.

      Very sad news.

      1. That's terrible news. Thoughts and prayers definitely go out to his family. Hopefully his wife will be able to continue with the business (it's such a good place), but only time will tell...

        1. that is very sad. he was such a nice man. always greeted you with a smile

          1. That's so sad. I loved the spiel he gave to every table.

Here's hoping he's in that great smoke ring in the sky.

You know Uncle Pete has his smokers stoked and is feeding the masses.

              Truly sad news.

            2. What a sin. He was such a sweet man. Uncle Pete's is truly a gem (I like the Route 60 location better than the previous East Boston one) and I hope they can keep the place going - it was such a big part of his life.
