White Lily Flour in Manhattan?

_emilie_ Mar 23, 2009 10:50 AM

Anyone know where I can buy White Lily Flour in Manhattan? I've heard Whole Foods may have it, but they didn't when I checked before. Any other ideas? I usually schlep it back with me on trips to the south, but it really would be nice to just get it here without involving air travel/ground shipping in some way. Biscuits just aren't the same without it.

I'd be interested in knowing too, though I still have two bags (schlepped as well) in my freezer.

I should add, I don't recall seeing it anywhere - and I'm relatively frequently in Citarella, Dean & Deluca, Grace's, etc.

Yeah I have tried Garden of Eden, a couple different Whole Foods, Gracefully, and even big non-specialty places like Food Emporium (and crappy grocers like Key Food -- you never know!), and I have never seen it.

Well, let us know if you find it, and if I see it, I'll post back.

Call Balducci's. I bought some there once (UWS store), but that was quite some time ago. I'm not in there very often, so haven't checked recently.

Called Balducci's in Chelsea and got "We don't carry that anymore." Bummer. Looks like I'll be packing it in my suitcase as usual!

Fairway is carrying Aunt Jemima self-rising now. It's the closest thing I've found in the city to decent biscuit flour.
