Jackson California

Are there any Chow Worthy places in or near Jackson.

There's a great burger stand there, that's been there forever, on the main road by the Safeway ...It's a person's name I think I wish I could be of more help....I had in-laws there for a while...I don't remember anything being particularly wonderful that we didn't cook ourselves........there's a great little city near there that has some good "quaint" kinda goldrush-ey places.....Sutter Hill (and Sutter Creek, but that's a bigger city than Jackson I think)

The hamburger place would be Mel and Faye's Diner, now located up on the hill before you reach the center of town. Safeway has moved to Martell.

Thanks....Have you been there? Pretty good burger right?

Yes, I have been there many times. If I were grading the burger, however, I would give it a C+.

Burgers at Mel & Faye's are ok, but the shakes are better. In the area, I prefer the burgers at Sequoia Drive-in, on Highway 88 at Red Corral Road. Beware of their garlic fries, tho...it's a monster order!

It's been about 5 years, but the two best places I found in Jackson are Buscaglia's, and Theresas; both conveniently located across the street from each other. Avoid the Bonanza.
