Brigtsen's. Frank is making a crawfish and corn mache choux that is about as good as it gets. Jfood just returned from three days in NOLA and is busy writing his comments while trying to digest a big old T-Bone from Bob's in Dallas. Extra lipitor please.

If I had to do only one, it would be Brigtsen's. This does not cast any sort of poor light on Stella!, as we enjoyed it completely. Still, if I only had one restaurant in NOLA, it would be Brigtsen's. All of the other excellent restaurants would just have to wait, until next trip.
I do agree with N.O. Food, about the differences. Still, for just the food, I would make a reservation at Brigtsen's.

Cannot go wrong with either (my 2 favorites in NOLA), just depends on what you are looking for. Brigtsen's is absolutely delicious, simple, honest regional food, done upscale. Stella will seriously challenge your tastebuds with unique and forward thinking presentations and combinations of flavors.

What kind of food are you looking for? Nouveau, fusiony Stella, or upscale Louisiana Brigtsen's? They're at different ends of the food spectrum. Overall, my tastes lean toward Brigtsen's, but I had an excellent meal last sunday night at Stella (the venison). They're both very good restaurants though.
