The Pourhouse in Westmont/Haddon Township, NJ

  • 1

Went to the Pourhouse in Westmont on Saturday night, site of Dockhoppers formerly. Still part of the PJ's chain, but has chained to more of a bar and away from the seafood, although they still had it on display.

Website link is here, it was hard to find and they even still have the big Dockhoppers sign up with a smaller sign underneath saying they've changed their menu.

Lot of different bears, menu is not too crazy, but to be honest I still wasn't too impressed. I had a bad experience at Dockhoppers, and last night was OK, went with a Riverhorse tap beer which was OK and a steak sandwich which was also OK (had some parts that were really good but other parts that were tough), and my stomach wasn't feeling so hot the next day. Can't say for sure if it was neccessarily related, I will give it another chance, but personally I like the Blue Monkey Tavern in Merchantville better for a similar vibe http://www.bluemonkeytavern.com/. Person I was with had the salmon special which was good, but not great. Prices were reasonable.

  1. Went back tonight and had a better experience, food was better, service was better, and beer selection was good, so will try it again for a deciding visit in a couple weeks.
