Mexican Restaurant on Route 1 north of Elkridge?
Few months ago was travelling on Route 1 north of Elkridge and passed a Mexican restaurant on the left. Now my travel partner would like to dine there. Anyone have any information on this place. At one point I think I recalled the name of the place and looked it up......remember something about it formerly being a Chinese restaurant. It's a freestanding place right on Route 1, in front a strip mall but not part of it. Any information so I can check it out beforehand would be appreciated.

Any chance that it was El Nayar -- actually in Elkridge? Your description standing on Rte 1 sounds wrong, but El Nayar's basic Mexican tacos, etc. are better than it sounds like the place described by notmandatory.

I'm not sure from the description, could it be El Dorado, just north of Montgomery Rd, near subway and across from Taco Bell/KFC? If it is, I recommend that you beg your friend to reconsider, it was one of the worst meals I've had in years. The salsa was runny and had a dishwater taste to it, and the mole was terrible in that way that the flavor just clings to your mouth until you brush your teeth. Even the fried ice cream was bad. I would honestly prefer to eat at the Taco Bell across the street.
