i've never been to Don Peppe's and have always wanted to try it, but it gets so little love here. But, someone very dear to me, goes there and swears by their linguine and clam sauce, and veal with chopped salad on top (sorry the actual name is not coming to me at the moment)----and their clams---

That is exactly what you should order. The veal is called "Veal Don Peppe". It is not a salad topping like you would find on a Milanese. It is chopped tomatoes and onions with a balsamic vinagrette and it is DELICIOUS!
And the clams........

I've only eaten there once and it was a few years ago, but I thought what we ordered was actually quite good. We had fettucini alfredo and I think it was chicken marsala. The wine was just okay. It was summer when we were there so we ate outside which I think was much nicer than inside which doesn't seem to have much atmosphere.
