Old posts with links to searches don't work
I know this was addressed in the announcement at http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/604782
"If you have bookmarked searches, they will no longer work, so you will need to reset them. "
I hadn't really thought it through but just came across one of my old posts (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/3528... ) and just realized that this change means any links referencing anything in the search engine aren't going to work.
This is really disappointing. There's a lot of effort that hounds have put in over the years on links like this. I suppose there's about an icecube's chance in Hell that the developers would be able to search and replace links that that with links that work, or set it so old links to searches at least redirect to the search box rather than that information-less error page, but I figured I'd offer those options as options what would make this less frustrating.
For what it's worth, I liked the old search setup. i was always able to find what I wanted. I'm continually amazed at the way the phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" never seems to apply on this site, whereas real tech problems that have plagued the site for a long time (mobile site, anyone?!) seem to be ignored.

That realization is just sinking in. To try to familiarize folks with the Places function, I often added links to neighborhood and cuisine links for the SF Bay Area, since those fields are so well-populated for our local area. Now, they'll just get a goose egg and wonder what I was talking about.
