ACC Concert
Coming into the city for the Fleetwood Mac concert next Thursday night (March 26). I am meeting my brother (we are 30:/40's). Looking for somewhere to drink some good beer and have supper. We will have about 3 hours. Can anyone make some suggestions? Thanks in advance.
IMO, your best bets are probably C'est What at Front E & Church, The Beer Bistro at King and Yonge and The Bier Market at The Esplanade & Church, though, with three hours to kill, I see no reason why you can't stop in for a pint at all three.
Enjoy!

Of the three mentioned, the only one I would recommend would be Beer Bistro. C'est What has "meh" bar food, good beer list and lots of attitude in a dank, basement atmosphere. Bier Markt has terrible food and a monster beer list that they are apparently out of most of the time (based on other comments on this board) in a meat market atmosphere. Beer Bistro has good food and a good beer list in a good atmosphere.

I'm in total agreement with TorontoJo on this one. C'est What is a fun place to hang out, play games and drink beer, but their food is little more than average at best pub grub. Biermarket has a more intriguing menu, but I've never eaten anything there that was memorable. The three times I've been there, the place was packed to the gills and very noisy. Conversation was very difficult. The service was also very slow. I haven't been to BeerBistro, but the menu and beer lists sound very enticing. Another option might be the Irish Embassy, which has pretty solid food and drinks, though I'm not sure their beer selection is nearly as impressive as BeerBistro or Biermarket. It might be a nice place to stop in for a pint after the concert.

Funny. I'd started my suggestions by qualifying them each with "beer vs food", but thought it was to much detail. Never assume ...
Though I certainly agree with TorontoJo's and 1sweetpea's comments about Bistro and Markt, I'll respectfully disagree about C'est What being standard fare for pub grub; you'd be hard-pressed to find lamb burger, bison burger and tourtiere on most pub menus around the ACC.
I'm curious to see some additional suggestions from the community too.
