Hi,

Will be in Philadelphia on Wed night...and we're in the mood for soul food.

Where can we get some killer vittles?

Doesn't have to be fancy, just delicious. Looking forward to your suggestions!

Sal

Delilah's is famous for their Mac and Cheese and is located in Reading Terminal Market. Not the cheapest way to go since it is famous (I think Oprah rated the mac and cheese number 1 in the country in 2003), but it certainly was delicious when I had it.

What little I know about soul food is from Delilah's - mostly in 30th Street Station. I enjoy their fish cakes, fried chicken, collard greens, and sweet potatoes. Free cornbread with every combo.

Never eaten there, but Miss Tootsies is on South Street, near 13th.

Miss Tootsies is also a BYO if I heard correctly.

I've loved Geechie Girl for years. Great biscuits, shrimp and grits, oustanding rices, fried okra, and other low country goodies.
