My son just decided to go vegetarian, so I'm looking for a few good places to take him to dinner. I'm a Durhamite, so I know only a little about the Greensboro restaurant scene. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd be interested in pretty much anything and everything - from cheap eats to fine dining (well, maybe no "finer" than $30 per entree). Thanks!

Boba House, on Tate Street near UNC-G is a casual vegetarian restaurant. I can't recommend it personally, as I've never eaten there, but I've heard good things about it. Saigon is a great vietnamese restaurant on High Point Road that has a lot of vegetarian dishes.

I love the food at Boba House -- it amazes me how they can make the shrimp look like shrimp.

Fro fine dining try Table 16 downtown. My husband and I wend there for my birthday last year and they did not have anything on the menu for him so he asked that waitress what he could get and the chef came out and asked him what kind of stuff he liked and made a special meal just for him. It was totally awesome.

Nice restaurants but not as pricy: Liberty Oak...also downtown has good options. McCouls (downtown)...pub restaurant that I lOVE. It is one of those restaurants where you see families there all the time but it also has a great late night crowd.
Taste of Thai or Saffron Indian right next door (mill street between battleground ave and westover terrace) have great veg options.

Boba house as mentioned before was good last time I was there but that was a while ago.

most place will have a few alternatives. check triaddiner.com for many menus. I would check out saigon - vietnamese(many tofu or vegetable only items though you may have to navigate around fish sauce) , any of the local indian places, bistro sophia, undercurrent

I agree with Boba House. Let's Dish! has great vegetarian dishes. Let's DIsh is not a restaurant but you can take home meals that are very convenient and have them in your freezer. It is on New Garden Road.
