Stonewood Grill - twice lucky??

Visited Stonewood Grill in Bradenton Florida 2 weeks ago and had a delicious skewer of shrimp and scallops.....so decided to give this Florida and North Carolina chain a second try, just to make sure it wasn't my lucky day!!! Lo and behold, another great meal......the best bruschetta in years and a lovely lobster ravioli with crisp veggies and shrimps. The whole experience was impressive...... Wondering if anyone else has tried this chain and would share your thoughts????

Never had a bad meal, mostly a few lunches, but a early dinner, just appetizers and 1 dinner. Very good. That is over the last 3 years I think. It was relaxed, inviting, polite, good service, decent prices and good food. Why not. Longhorn or applebees upscale a bit with better food, Macaroni Grill type, but different food obviously, but I don't mind at all. For reasonable dining, I enjoyed it. Ours has an outdoor seating area which I love. Very relaxed.

Just saw that you were from Sarasota! Me too. at least seven and a half months of the year. Stonewood is quite near us there, and we too enjoy it. Food is good, reasonably priced, plus good service. I only wish that they would put the Swordfish bruschetta back on the menu, used to be my favorite!!

I end up at Stonewood every so often when my fiancee and I go out to dinner with her parents. It is right in the neighborhood, and always reliably good. I'd usually rather eat somewhere locally-owned and ethnic, but we've never had a bad meal there. My personal favorites are the house-smoked salmon rubbed with whole-grain mustard from their appetizers menu (which I often order as an entree) and their amazing creamed spinach, which we all love.

The other night, my future mother-in-law ordered a filet that turned out to have a lot of gristle. Our friendly waitress swung into action immediately, apologizing and bringing over a helpful, enthusiastic manager. He made everything right, brought her a new, perfectly-cooked filet, checked back in on us later, and I believe he comped it too (not that we asked). He said that they want to make sure everyone has a flawless meal, and they'll do whatever they can to make things right.

None of us had ever seen such top-notch service, so I wanted to publicly give credit where credit is due. This is the Stonewood Grill location in Winter Springs, Florida on Red Bug Lake Road, by the way. You can tell them Big Bad Voodoo Lou sent you... and they'll have no idea who you're talking about!

We love Stonewood! Although we don't have one near us, anytime we are in a town with a Stonewood, we go. It is CONSISTENTLY good! The clam chowder is on par with a very good seafood restaurant as is the herb crusted grouper. I get the same thing everytime, dh varies....He likes the steaks, chops, chicken. I think this is the best chain restaurant around!

I love Stonewood. Their bruschetta is, indeed, to die for. I also really enjoy the pork chops, and their lamb is generally very good.
